"There’s no problem at low speeds, in Sunday driving mode with your mother-in-law, but if for some reason you need to put your foot down (to overtake, to nip into an opening or to pull out of a roundabout) you’ll be left hanging about. Despite its 130 hp and its direct injection, the Mégane’s four cylinders struggle to deliver its 205 Nm of torque. Indicated at 2000 rpm, it feels more like they kick in at 3000 rpm when you’ve stopped waiting for it."
